The Plant Of
The Week is Mecardonia Magic Carpet Yellow from Sakata Ornamentals. This
plant was the best of several Sakata Mecardonia experimental varieties we
evaluated in the 2011 Confidential Garden and had excellent results all season
long. It is doing great again this year in the Main Garden both in ground
(left) and in containers (right). This is a very durable plant. The breeder in
Japan selected this plant by walking on his trials every day and picking the
ones that got even better looking!
This is another
great plant to think about adding to the lineup in 2014.
